Applications are invited for a PhD position at the Danish National Research Foundation’s Center for Individual Nanoparticle Functionality (CINF) www.cinf.dtu.dk at the Department of Physics.

The PhD project will be studying fundamental aspect of nanoparticle morphology, sintering and anchoring of nanoparticles. The methods used are nanoparticle synthesis by a sputter magnatron and subsequent mass selection i.e. mass selected nanoparticle deposition. The nanoparticles are deposited on planar surfaces where they can be investigated by surface science tools like AES, ISS, XPS, STM, SEM and TEM. The reactivity is tested in our new micro reactor platform based on a chip or in combination with electro- or photo-catalysis. All reactivity is closely related to sustainable energy production or harvesting.

Qualifications
The preferred candidate has a master in Physics/Chemistry/Nanotechnology.

Salary and appointment terms
Starting date is 1st of September or soon thereafter. The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD degree students. The period of employment is 3 years.
