A PhD position is available in the NaBiS group at DTU Nanotech. Candidates with a master degree or equivalent in physics or biophysics are invited to apply for the three year PhD position. The position will be available from September 1st 2010 (or soon thereafter). The candidate will work with one or more of the following topics

  1. Design and fabrication of microfluidic device
  2. Preparation of chromosome solutions for use in the devices
  3. Analytical methods such as Fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH)
  4. Simulations of microfluidic device using COMSOL

In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to the following.

  • Experience with design and fabrication of microsystems.
  • Experience with simulation (COMSOL)
  • Experience with bio-analysis (Isolation, sorting, PCR/RCA/ FISH).
  • Experience with project- and team work in an international environment
  • Open independent working style and good communication skills

Salary and appoint­­ment terms :
The salary and appoint­­ment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD students at DTU. The position is available for a period of 3 years.
