Description : BioEngineering Institute of Catalonia (IBEC) (http://www.ibecbarcelona.eu) has opened a PhD position of 4 years contract. The project will be in connection with a European large scale integrated project; Array of robots augmenting the kinematics of endoluminal surgery. Our aim in the project is develop innovative sensor devices for endoluminal monitoring and therapy that will be integrated on miniature manipulators endoscope modules, in order to monitor the evolution of the patient during scarless non invasive stomach surgery. The device will be an electrochemical multi-sensors array based on polymeric technology for real-time monitoring of pH, gases and electrolytes in the stomach tissue. We offer an exciting multidisciplinary and international environment and the possibility to be part of a European project at the forefront of science and technology. The Institute is located in the centre of Barcelona. Barcelona has a rich cultural life and many international students. It is easily accessible from major European cities either by train or plane. I am M.Tech in Biochemical Engineering having 10 yrs+ working experience in process industry. I am also having B.Sc(H) in chemistry. I have just completed my MBA degree this year. I am competent in MS operating system. I hope my candidature will be best suited for this particular project: Electrochemical array for pH, potassium, O2 and CO2 monitoring.
