Sc in Forestry with a Project work on Restoration Ecology in Bangladesh. Now I am working as a professional environment and forest expert in Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB), the largest government organization working in water sector, that is, flood control, irrigation, poverty reduction by agriculture production, fishery development and biodiversity conservation by wetland conservation and management, people's participation etc. But Bangladesh is going to be one of the great climate victims (victim due adverse impact of climate change) in the near future. But we have no effective adaptation policy, strategy or programs to mitigate those adverse impacts. As a great portion of the total population and ecological resources of Bangladesh is directly and/or indirectly dependant on her water resources so BWDB has a lot to do for this. But as a over populated developing country Bangladesh can not take sufficient measures to tackle the problem. There should be taken proper initiatives to quantify the type and extent of the adverse impacts of global climate change on Bangladesh and also we have to carry on research to develop effective policy/strategy of a course of actions to mitigate those adverse impacts regionally in internationally. That is we need regional and international cooperation in this issue. As a mid level Environment and Forestry expert I have the scope of doing a lot to help in formulation of government policy/ strategy by studying the impacts in grassroots level, encouraging the people (the climate victims) to adopt and improve traditional adaptation measures, talking to the national policy makers, donor agencies, voluntary environmental agencies etc. That's why I am interested to carry on research on these issues. But as I mentioned before Bangladesh a developing country invests most of its income to feed its 150 million people so it has not enough budget to expend for this purpose.
