2016 PhD Positions in Food and Agricultural Science, Technology and Biotechnology, Italy

The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia is inviting citizens from Italy to apply for Ph.D. Positions. The research project will focus on the development of bioactive edible packaging, with a special interest on the antimicrobial effect of natural substances, which could exert their action on feed and/or food products.

The university’s main objective is to provide high quality, comprehensive educational and training opportunities that are compatible to changing needs of the students.

The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia located in Modena and Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, is one of the oldest universities in Italy, founded in 1175, with a population of 20,000 students.

Applicants must have good knowledge of English language.

Course Level: Positions are available for pursuing Ph.D. programme.

Study Subject: Applicants will work on the research project topic “Bioactive edible packaging for feed and food”.

Scholarship Award: There are 10 positions available – 5 scholarships

Scholarship can be taken in Italy

Eligibility: Required skills of the candidate

  • Basic knowledge of food microbiology, food processing, organic chemistry
  • Availability to work in food companies and with farmed animals
  • Good competence and practical skills in common laboratory practices
  • Good knowledge of English language

Nationality: Applicants from Italy can apply for this Ph.D. position.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Italian second level degree (Laurea specialist, under D.M. 509/99 or laurea magistrale, under D.M. 207/04) or Italian degree obtained prior to D.M. 13 509/99 or equivalent qualification obtained abroad.

Test Requirement: No

English Language Requirement: Applicants must have good knowledge of English language.
