PhD Position in Carbohydrate Chemistry,Technical University of Denmark
A PhD fellowship is available in carbohydrate chemistry at DTU Chemistry. The purpose of the project is to prepare oligosaccharides related to plant cell wall polysaccharides. The target molecules will be used in screening and analysis in ongoing projects focusing on plant developmental biology, cancer biology, and to identify dietary fibres with health benefits. The position will be available from September 1, 2010 and will be supervised by Associate Professor Mads H. Clausen. The fellowship is funded by the Department of Chemistry.
Qualifications :
Candidates should have a master’s degree in engineering or chemistry with a strong theoretical and experimental background in organic chemistry. Candidates with experience in carbohydrate chemistry and oligosaccharide synthesis will be preferred. International experience and good language skills in English are considered advantages.
Salary and appointment terms:
The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD degree students. The period of employment is 3 years.
