A graduate assistantship is available for 2 years (twice renewable). Research will be carried out in the area of computational modeling of tissue engineering and bone fracture healing (including the influence of mechanical loading and the modeling of blood vessels).
The ideal candidate has a strong interest in biomedical processes and an affinity for computer modeling. The candidate should be an eager self-starter who is able to work with, and be part of, a multidisciplinary (biomechanics and systems biology) research team. The candidate is expected to collaborate in the organization of the courses and practica according to her/his skills and the need of the department (about 120 h/year).
The candidate should have a master’s degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent and has distinguished her/himself during or after these studies. The candidate should also be competent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of French is not required, although foreign PhD students are strongly encouraged to learn French.
