PHD POSITION IN ECONOMICS

Applications are invited for 1-2 vacant PhD position in economics at the Department of
Economics, Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The PhD fellowships are
awarded for a total of 4 years and include 25% teaching obligations.

The Department of Economics has a complete master and PhD programme in Economics. The
department has an applied econometrics profile and the academic staff covers most major
fields in economics. Major research fields at the department are public economics, labour
economics, economic growth, development economics, political economy, monetary policy,
education economics, and finance.

The position requires a master degree in economics, or comparable qualifications. The usual
requirement is a master degree with excellent results, but documentation of excellence by
research papers or a description of a research project is also possible.
The appointment is subject to the current conditions covering the appointment of Civil
Servants in Norway. At the moment, the normal salary level for a PhD fellowship is NOK
27133 per month. A compulsory 2% deduction from salary is paid into the State pension
scheme.

experience. Attested copies of degree certificates and testimonials must be attached. The
applications must also include a description of intended research topic. Scientific work will be
taken into account if the work is attached to the application.
