at the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Starting date October 2009.
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Uppsala University offers a stimulating work environment with active research and education directed towards astronomy, space physics, neutron research, nuclear and particle physics, as well as field theory and superstring theory. We are looking for a motivated person for a PhD position in experimental particle physics. The successful applicant will work with docent Arnaud Ferrari in Uppsala and professor Johann Collot in Grenoble on the search for physics beyond the Standard Model through the study of top quark decays in the ATLAS experiment at CERN’s LHC. Employment as a PhD student is for 4 years. Further information regarding the positions can be obtained from Arnaud Ferrari (Arnaud.Ferrari-at-fysast.uu.se, +46 18-471 5827). The final appointment will be made after interviews with a few top candidates, in Uppsala and Grenoble .
