PhD POSITION IN MEDICAL IMAGING AND MEDICAL IMAGE PERCEPTION

Applications are invited for a PhD position in the field of medical imaging in the Vision Image Processing and Sound (VIPS) group at the Dept. of Computer Science of the University of Verona (Italy).
The position is for three years full time officially starting in Jan. 2009 and it is funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MiUR). However, an earlier date could eventually be agreed upon request.
The research activity is in the field of medical imaging and medical image perception, which aims at integrating human perception in the design of automatic systems for the analysis and interpretation of medical images as well as the validation of IP algorithms. The investigation will mainly concern neuroimaging modalities (fMRI).
HOW TO APPLY
Applications including the CV, a motivation letter and the names of two references must be sent to Prof. G. Menegaz (gloria.menegaz-at-univr.it). The call will be officially published on July 31st and the closing date is Sept. 15. The exam will be in Oct. 2009. Applications from non Italian candidates are strongly encouraged.
