Reproducible production of model biofilm for testing of cleaning efficiency
Biofilms can corrode or destroy materials and can act as a persistent source of contaminations and diseases. Removal of biofilm is difficult and appropriate methods need to be developed. In order to compare such methods, formation and detection of biofilms have to be standardized.
This project aims at formulating a standard procedure to produce monospecific biofilm on a large scale for industrial/commercial applications. The tasks will be:
The successful candidate holds a Diploma or Masters in Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Sciences or related discipline. Experience with microbiology is an advantage.

I would like to introduce my self my name is Moges Kibret ,currently I am studying my MSC program in Addis Ababa University in microbiology beening sponsoured by Jigjiga University in Ethiopia and i will complete it in June 2009 . soon after i am interested to proceed my PHD program in microbial biotechnology , therefore hopefully, assuming your organization will sponsored me for education and living costs in 2010 .
