A PhD position is available to study the mechanisms used by miRNAs to regulate gene expression in Drosophila cell culture. The project will involve RNA biology, general molecular biology and biochemical approaches.
You will join a young and expanding research team. The group is part of the RNA biology research program at the Max F. Perutz Laboratories, MFPL (www.mfpl.ac.at). The MFPL is an international university research institute, which is part of the Vienna Biocenter Campus, and provides a highly interactive and excellent research atmosphere.
Application criteria:
The successful candidate must hold or expect to obtain a European or equivalent masters degree in biochemistry/molecular biology/genetics. The candidate should be highly motivated and team oriented. Prior practical experiences in general molecular biology is desirable.
