Ph.D. position in molecular biology at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark
A 3-years Ph.D. position (salary: 14,000 DKK, about 1,860 Euro, after tax per month) for students from Europe is available immediately at the Center for Functional and Comparative Insect Genomics, University of Copenhagen (http://www2.bio.ku.dk/insect_genomics/). This Center is involved in the annotation of about 10 insect genomes. In the project we are focusing on insect G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), where we want to use plant RNAi to down-regulate GPCRs in herbivore insects, leading to plant protection (in a selective and environmentally save way). The candidate should have a solid experimental background in molecular biology and a documented broad interest in biology.
