PhD Position Molecular Plant Biologist-Biochemist
May 9, 2008
Project:
“Characterisation and functional analysis of Fusarium oxysporum effectors”.
Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici (Fol) is the causal agent of tomato wilt disease. This project aims at the functional characterization of proteins secreted by Fol upon invasion of the xylem vessels of tomato. Some of these proteins may trigger induction of basal defences, whereas others (called effectors) may suppress these responses allowing the pathogen to cause disease. Analysis of the xylem sap proteome of Fol-infected tomato plants resulted in identification of a large set of Fol secreted proteins. Here, we want to identify the function of these secreted proteins in disease, and identify their molecular targets in the plant. For this research a variety of techniques will be used including (transient)transgenesis, epitope-tagging, proteomics, disease bioassays and confocal microscopy.

Hi
Let me present myself. My name is Tatjana Micic and I have Master Degreee in Molecular Biology and Physiology.I am interested to work for your estimated team.
Best Regards
Tatjana Micic
I am neda mohamadi,I’m interested in Biology as a whole but mainly focused on plant physiology, phytochemistry , and plant biotechnology. Following my MSc. graduation (Feb 2006), I tried so hard to find a group or lab (in Tehran, Iran) interested in plant biotechnology, but more I tried, less I found. Finally, I accepted to become a research assistant in Tehran university and devoted my off hours to my favorite field of phytochemistry. I learned HPLC,electrophoresis ,PCR and read related books and research papers, and made a research group with my friend (Peyman Rajaie). After more than one year of learning and practicing together,we started our research practically. Since then, we have submitted two papers(Analysis of the carotenoid phgments stigmas of different Corcus species by HPLC, Phytochemistery study of some species of Jurina).
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or requests for further documentation.
Thank you very much for your concideration.
Yours sincerely,
Neda Mohamadi.
