Job Description : Title: Nutrient use efficiency on dairy farms

Description: There are two aspects of to this project: (i) a study of the impacts of breed of dairy cow and stocking density on the efficiency of N recycling in grazed grassland and (ii) a study of nutrient use efficiency on commercial dairy farms in Ireland compared with international benchmarks.
Funding: This project is part-funded by the European Research and Development Fund under NWE Interreg IVB project no. 096D Dairyman – Improving regional prosperity through better resource utilization on dairy farms. Student stipend is €21,000 per annum
Location: The successful candidate will be registered with the Department of Chemical & Life Sciences, Waterford Institute of Technology and will be based primarily at the Teagasc, Moorepark Dairy Production Research Centre, Fermoy, Co. Cork.
Requirements: Applicants should hold a BSc or MSc degree in agricultural science, environmental science, or comparable; have an interest in field and laboratory work; fluent English language skills. A full driving licence is an advantage.

This Dr Rafi. I have got a four year degree of DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) from Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam Pakistanin 2002. Where I have studied various subjects like Animal Nutrition, Dairy Technology, Animal Breeding & Genetics, Microbiology (Immunology, Bacteriology, Virology), Biochemistry, Physiology, Surgery, Medicine, Parasitology, Anatomy and Reproduction etc. Moreover I got M. Sc (Hons) in Animal Nutrition from NWFP Agriculture University Peshawar in 2005.
I am working as Veterinary Officer (Health) in the Department of Livestock & Dairy Development NWFP, Pakistan since 2004. I want to continue my studies and intend to have Ph D in the Animal Nutrition as I had studied these subjects for four years in my DVM degree as well as in my MSc (Hons) curriculum.
