PhD Positions Cancer Biology Frankfurt Germany

The Institute of Biochemistry I at the Faculty of Medicine, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt has positions open for 2 PhD students to work on projects targeting signaling mechanisms that are dysregulated in the development of tumors. A particular focus will be put on the effect of inflammation on the tumorigenesis process.

Highly motivated candidates, enthusiastic about the prospect of driving forefront research in an international team are encouraged to apply. A strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology is an asset. Preliminary experience in tumor biology and/or inflammatory processes would be advantageous. A good working knowledge of English and the desire to work in a highly team-oriented environment are required.

The Institute of Biochemistry I provides excellent facilities to conduct interdisciplinary research in biochemistry and molecular biology. Furthermore, close collaborations with other groups at the Goethe-University and research institutes abroad are in place. The Goethe-University is home to two international Graduate Schools (Frankfurt International Research Graduate School for Translational Biomedicine; European Graduate School: Roles of Eicosanoids in Biology and Medicine) and the Excellence Cluster Cardio-Pulmonary Systems. In addition, the Research Group on Lipid Signaling is based at the Goethe-University.

Salary will be according to the appropriate civil service level (BAT).
