PhD positions in cognitive neuroscience available

Which experiences will be stored in long-term memory, which will be
deleted? What?s the role of emotions for memory retention, and what?s
the role of Noradrenaline and Dopamine? What happens to the memory
trace after the first encoding? And what is the contribution of sleep
to memory consolidation?

If you are interested in these questions, and if you are not
intimidated by EEG, fMRI and pharmacological methods, why not think
about writing a PhD thesis on one of these topics?

We are looking for several motivated psychologists, neuroscientists or
interested students with a background in biosignal analysis (e.g.
electrical engineers).

If you would like to ?
- get experience with different methods from psychology and the
neurosciences,
- learn how to work scientifically and publish your work in
international journals,
- work in an interdisciplinary team on the topics described above,
then come and join us.

You would work in a young, DFG-funded Emmy Noether-Group at the
Department of General and Experimental Psychology at the
Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. The salary
will be according to German standard scales (50% E13 TV-L).

It will be possible to learn the methods mentioned above during the
PhD work, but some previous knowledge (e.g. in EEG analysis, SPM,
MATLAB programming or similar) would be desirable. Knowledge of
statistics and English is required.
