Ph.D. / PostDoc positions applied mathematics (RWTH Aachen,Germany)
The Institut fuer Geometrie und Praktische Mathematik, RWTH Aachen,
invites applications for two PhD / postdoc positions.
The first position is within the research project “Multiscale techniques
for highly resolved vortex structures”.
The candidate should have some background in computational fluid
dynamics, especially in conservation laws
and their discretization (finite volume methods, DG methods).
The second position is within a project between
the IGPM, RWTH Aachen, ETH Zurich and the chair of applied Analysis,
University of Osnabr?ck.
Good programming skills as well as a some background in function spaces
and (applied and computational) harmonic analysis are a must for the
candidate.

Is it possible for me to get funding to do research on the interface between numerical analysis and CFD such as the one you are advising in this programme?
