The University of Queensland Institute for Molecular Bioscience Phd Scholarship in Cell Biology

The Institute for Molecular Bioscience is a dynamic research environment housing approximately 400 scientists and state-of-the-art facilities within The University of Queensland St Lucia campus. The successful candidate will be working in the active and successful research group of Prof. Jennifer Stow, with national and international collaborations and access to world-class cell expertise and equipment in cell biology.

The project: Our research group focuses on protein trafficking in mammalian cells. One of our aims is to map the pathways and molecules that regulated the secretion of cytokines and other cell medators during the inflammatory response. This work will ultimately contribute to new therapeutic targets for inflammatory diseases and cancer. The person: Applicants should have an interest in cell biology and disease and preferably, some training or experience in one or more of the following areas: protein trafficking, cell imaging, biochemistry, molecular biology or immunology. The minimum academic requirement is a Bachelor (Honours I or IIA) or Masters degree in biological science.
