PhD student in Computer Science
KTH Computer science and Communication is seeking a PhD student in Computer Science for one of the units Computational Biology and Theoretical Computer Science. The unit for Computational Biology performs research into the modelling of subcellular biological systems and evolutionary processes. The unit for Theoretical Computer Science performs research into cryptography, complexity theory, algorithm design, as well as logic and semantics. Nada at the University of Stockholm is also a Department within the School of Computer Science and Communication at KTH.
Qualifications
The ideal applicant has documented competence and skills in computer science or closely related areas. The candidates should have good abilities to formulate and reason about scientific questions and to work creatively with such issues as well as to express them clearly in speech and writing. A strong criterion for selection is the applicants expected ability to complete the studies within the time given.
An applicant who in the next few months will finish his/her MSc degree will also be considered in the evaluation process. For further information see
The PhD position extends over a maximum of five years normally including 20% department duties (typically teaching). The PhD student can be enrolled either at KTH or at Stockholm University. Starting date can be discussed.
