Job Description : In the Marie Curie Initial Training Networks, LeanGreenFood, Chemistry Laboratory, Agricultural University of Athens seeks a PhD student to develop fluidic analysers. The aim of the LeanGreenFood project is to reduce the chemical treatment in the production of the food and food ingredients by utilizing enzymatic catalysis in the process. The specific objectives of the present PhD study are the development of automated fluidic analytical technologies for the determination of enzymatic hydrolysis products such as oligosaccharides and monosaccharide glucose,. Methods aim at quality assessment of output and possibly input in enzymatic hydrolysis processes. Automated methods to be developed will be based on sequential- and/or flow-injection, lab-on-valve fluidic principles, while detection will depend on different principles such as DAD, chemi- or bio-luminescence, fluorimetry etc.
