PhD scholarship in energy saving retrofitting of buildings
Description of the project
The aim of the PhD project is to develop methods for integrated design of energy saving retrofitting of existing buildings based on the following activities:
* evaluation of the remaining service life time of the different parts of the building
* development of solutions for retrofitting with strongly improved energy performance and durability
* optimization of the retrofitting with respect to how and when the retrofitting is performed
The goal is to develop solutions that can reduce the energy consumption in existing building to low energy levels in combination with ordinary retrofitting and in this way make it possible to implement a large contribution to the reduction in green house gas emissions and secure the indoor environment in existing buildings in an economically optimised way.
Candidates should have a master’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
We are looking for a colleague who possesses the following skills:
* Knowledge on an MSc level in:
o building design
o building physics
o energy performance of buildings
o building services
* Proficiency in oral and written English
* Good grades
The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval.
