PhD Scholarship Program 2009 Australia: CRC for Asthma and Airways
The CRC for Asthma and Airways (www.asthma.crc.org.au) is keen to foster PhD programs within the CRC to attract students of the highest calibre and to provide them with additional support during their study. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with other CRC researchers, and participate in exchange programs with the pharmaceutical industry and other CRC for Asthma and Airways partners.
Funds have been allocated to provide financial assistance, in the form of supplementary scholarships, to PhD students. The Education Committee of the CRC will award a number of these scholarships to students who are working on CRC projects and have preferably been awarded a PhD
scholarship from another source.
Applications close on the 14th November 2008.
Scholarships will provide a sum up to $7,500 per annum. This includes an allocation of $2,500 for conference and travel assistance for which students may apply.
The following conditions will apply:
• Students must be working on a CRC research project.
• Applications for scholarships will be evaluated by a subcommittee of the CRC Education Committee, and will be ranked according to their merit. Both new and current PhD students will be considered for scholarships.
• Preference will be given to students who have already obtained a competitive scholarship from another source e.g. APA, NHMRC, University, Asthma Foundation scholarship etc.
• Students who are successful in obtaining a scholarship will be required to provide an annual report to the Education Committee.
• Students will be required to acknowledge the support of the CRC in any abstracts, conference presentations or publications that arise from their research.
• Students must abide by the CRC’s confidentiality policies. This would include signing the appropriate confidentiality and intellectual property agreements.

I have completed my Bachelor and Master degree in Social Work from Rajshahi University, Bangladesh. I stood first in the 1st class in both the examinations. I did Bachellor in 1990 and Master in 1991. Duration of bachelor degree was 3 years and that of Master degree was 1 year. I stood first in the 1st class in both the examinations.I stood first in the Faculty of social science in both the examinations. I was awarded GOLD MEDALS for the extraordinary results.
I did another Master degree ( International Master of science in Social Work) that is called IMSSW from Gothenburg University, Sweden, in 2005. I got pass in the examination ( where grading system was-pass , high pass and fail). I did individual Masters thesis during the MS course ( 15 ECTS). The MS thesis was on “Social Development Theory as a Tool to Reduce Unemployment: A Study on Selected Programmes of a Social Work Organization With Unemployed Immigrants in Sweden.”
Recently ( 2008) I have completed another Master degree named “International Master in Family-Related Policies and Social Services in Europe” under a collaboration programme of 6 universities of 4 European Countries (Italy, Spain, Norway and Sweden). It is a 1 year programme of 60 ECTS. I have got grade C (The grading system was A, B, C, D, E and Fail). I have done an individual master’s thesis ( 15 ECTS) under the title “Ethnic Minorities In Sweden – Integration in to the Labor Market & the Family Survival Strategies.”

1- Identification of causal agents of plant diseases including field crops (wheat, canola, alfalfa, corn, cotton, sugar beet, sunflower, sorghum and …), vegetables (tomato, cucumber and …), fruit trees and ornamentals.
2- Detection of quarantine diseases in Markazi Province.
3- The screening of Trichoderma isolates based on antifungal potential on phytopathogens for commercial bioproducing.
