Phd Scholarships in Economics
Defap, Graduate School in Economics and Finance of Public Administration offers a 3 years Ph.D. programme in Public Economics. The new PhD programme is a joint project by Università Cattolica (Milano), Università degli Studi (Milano) and Università degli studi (Milano-Bicocca) and is structured in two parts: three semesters of taught courses and three semesters of research. In the first year students attend eight compulsory courses devoted to quantitative methods, microeconomics, macroeconomics, and public economics. During the first semester of the second year students attend advanced courses that bring them to the frontier of research in several fields. The programme, taught in English, includes rigorous training in both theoretical subjects and advanced techniques with special attention to empirical tools. The Faculty of the School includes teaching staff from the three founding institutions and from several top foreign universities. The School has established exchange programmes with international institutions and academic departments. The PhD programme is now in its fifth year of activity, it is widely recognized as one of the best Italian PhD programs in Public Economics, and has built a very promising track record in placing its graduates. Deadline and positions There are 10 positions available and 5 scholarship will be awarded on merit. The applications must be sent within 30 days from the publication of the Announcement on “Gazzetta Ufficiale della Repubblica Italiana”. Admissions will be announced on July 29. Undergraduate students can apply if they obtain their degree. In this case, admission will be accepted conditionally and the candidate will have submit to the diploma di laurea or the foreign academic qualification by the deadline matriculation, or give up the place. Hi,
Im a Kenyan student based in a small town known as Kakamega in the western part of ther country. I have a diploma course in Cartography and GIS and now persuing a degree course in Disaster Preparedness and Environmental Technology now in my second year.
My interest was to find a way of improving my knowledge in GIS technologies as i continue with my studies. In this regard, Im looking for scholarships for short term courses in GIS say 3 months preferably between the months of may and August starting in the year 2009.
I have no particular biases on where the courses will be offered but im ok with Germany, USA or in the Asan continent.
