Three Ph.D. scholarships will be available with starting dates between April 1st 2008 and April 1st 2009. The positions are fully or partially financed by the Danish Council for Strategic Research and offered in connection with the project “Thermo chemical Screening of Cellulolytic Enzymes for Second-Generation Bioethanol Production”. The project is collaboration between Roskilde University (RU) and Novozymes A/S. Candidates will be employed by the university, but should expect to share their work time between RU and Novozymes’ laboratories in Bagsværd.

Candidates with excellent qualifications in one or several of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

  • Mechanisms of enzyme regulation (inhibition, promotion, synergy)
  • Calorimetry
  • Protein adsorption to surfaces
  • Enzymatic saccharification of biomass
  • Biofuels
  • Physical and chemical properties of cellulose
  • Functionally based modeling of enzyme activity

The successful candidates will apply calorimetry and other analytical techniques to characterize cellulolytic enzymes with respect to e.g. molecular mechanism and regulation. The candidates will be part of an international research group.

Terms of salary and employment
Salary and pension etc. will be in accordance with the current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Academics Central organization.     I have many post graduate courses ,
    I wish to study an PhD like that but i have not the Economic possibilities
