Applications are invited for a full-time PhD Studentship at the Queen Mary, University of London. The project includes a series of experiments to examine the effects of sensory replacement such as nicotine-free and electronic cigarettes on craving and withdrawal, and studies evaluating such an addition to existing pharmacological and behavioural treatments for dependent smokers.
TDRU is a part of the UK Centre for Tobacco Control Studies, and a leading tobacco dependence research centre internationally. The student would work with a team of specialist researchers and fellow students in a productive and exciting research environment.

The successful student will be registered for a PhD from September 2010 (or as soon as possible thereafter) and will receive a stipend of £15,590 per annum, payment of tuition fees, and an allowance for travel/conference attendance for a period of three years.
