Eligibility

The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • The preferred candidates will have a Master degree in molecular microbiology or related field. We expect the candidates to have a background with a focus on molecular biology, and work with recombinant DNA and/or proteins. Experience with bacterial gene expression is seen as an advantage. It is also an advantage but not a requirement that the applicants have passed the Bachelor/Master course “Molecular Microbiology”
  • These are awarded in the field of Molecular Microbiology.
  • The PhD candidates will gain experience in working with bacterial genetics, biochemistry, and physiology, using cutting edge techniques in molecular biology and microbiology.
  • Further requirements are fluency in written and spoken English. If you finish your Master degree between the deadline for applications and April 1, 2017, you should confirm this by attaching a written statement from by your supervisor.
  • International candidates are eligible to apply for these grants.

Benefits

The starting salary for candidates with an MSc degree will be a minimum of DKK 309.109 annually (April 2016 level) plus pension contribution with the possibility of salary negotiation.
