PhD Scholarships in Signal and Image Processing at RMIT University in Australia, 2017

RMIT University is offering two PhD scholarships, one for a local student and one for an international student. These scholarships are available to undertake a research degree in the area of signal and image processing with applications to satellite research or biomedical engineering.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD programme.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the area of signal and image processing with applications to satellite research or biomedical engineering.

Scholarship Award: $27,000 per annum for three years, with a possible six-month extension. The successful international applicant will also receive a tuition fee waiver.

Number of Scholarships: Two scholarships are available, one for a local student and one for an international student.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Have obtained a letter of offer for a PhD degree at RMIT University in the School of Engineering, Electrical and Computer by the closing date of 29 July 2016. Please refer to the instructions on how to apply for postgraduate research or
  • Already hold an offer letter from RMIT to undertake a PhD in the School of Engineering, Electrical and Computer
  • Possess good fundamental knowledge in signal processing, experimental design or intelligent systems
  • Possess excellent mathematical skills (probability theory and statistics, algebra, complex analysis)
  • Possess good programming skills in Matlab, C
  • Have good teamwork skills
  • Have good oral and written communication skills in english language.

Nationality: Australian and international students are eligible to apply.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: It is desirable for applicants to possess:

  • A master degree in electronics/biomedical/software engineering with a high GPA
  • Evidence of research excellence (publications/patents)
  • Background knowledge in signal processing and classification algorithm development, and simulation
  • Experience in human experiments design.

Test Requirement: No

English Language Requirement: International applicants must also meet the english language requirements for studying a research program at RMIT University.
