at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena in Germany offers

seven PhD student fellowships

limited for 3 years.

Since the research subject of microbial impact on weathering, reactive transport and remineralization is strictly interdisciplinary, the faculty comprises two geological, one mineralogical, one soil science, one chemical and two microbiological expert groups.

With this research profile, a PhD program is established that is characterized by its scientific excellence and strong international context and that will stimulate interaction between students coming from different scientific disciplines in an highly innovative research field. International education and language skills are also enhanced by a mandatory 3 months project at a foreign institute.

Applicants should have an above average MSc or diploma in biology, geology, chemistry or comparable certification.

The capacity for teamwork, interest and pleasure to work are expected.
