Eligibility: -A Master’s degree with background in biomedical or biological or chemical engineering, would be an ideal candidate for this position.

-Applicants cannot have received the most recent degree more than three years prior to the date of application and must have minimum first-class average, as determined by the International Credential Evaluation Guidelines.

Scholarship Description: BioNanolab aThe BioNano Laboratory is seeking a PhD Student (Graduate Research Assistant) to work on a multi-disciplinary project on investigating the antimicrobial resistance of food-borne and animal pathogen biofilms using microfluidic systems and nanoscale imaging techniques. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with a team using systems biology and microbiology techniques to understand the kinetics and dynamics of pathogenic biofilms. This position offers access to the outstanding facilities for experimental studies at the University of Guelph, with close collaborations between microbiologists and biological engineers at partner institutions. The candidate will be expected to design, execute laboratory experiments, analyze quantitative data, write scientific journals and present at international conferences to the scientific community.

Number of awards offered: Two Graduate Student positions (MSc and PhD levels) are available in the Bionanotechnology Laboratory within the School of Engineering at the University of Guelph.
