I hereby apply to be considered for the hydro-geophysics PhD studentship. I hold a BSc.(Hons) in Applied Physics and an MSc. in Geophysics from National University of Science and Technology in Zimbabwe. I am currently a Geophysics and Instrumentation lecturer at the Midlands State Universty.

Fresh water is undoubtedly our most precious resource aside from the air we breathe in. Our understanding of the origins, pathways and recharge mechanisms of the world’s most economic ground water is surprisingly being surpassed by the search for minerals. There is an urgent need to update information for evaluating, developing and managing massive sustainable ground water resources. With the increasing pressure on availability and exploitation of fresh water resources through population increase, pollution, degradation of resources and variation in climatic distribution on the local, regional and global scale; a compilation of knowledge in this area becomes a prerequisite for research, education, training and use by practising hydrologists.

It shall be my pleasure to be given an opportunity to be fully engaged, apply knowledge, research and contribute to this valuable area.
