PhD Student Position in Molecular Cell Biology (TVL-E13/2, für die Dauer von 3 Jahren) The Zentralinstitut für Ernährung- und Lebensmittelforschung (ZIEL), Departments for Nutritional Medicine and Biofunctionality of Foods, offers a Ph.D. student position starting in September for 3 years. Project description: The project will be carried out within a BMBF initiative “targeting adipose tissue dysfunction“. The studies will aim to characterize molecular pathways relevant for the development of a chronic low grade inflammation commonly observed in obesity. In particular, the role of endoplasmic reticulum stress during the development of obesity will be addressed. The studies will include cell culture experiments as well as the use of transgenic mouse models. Therefore, in the institutes a variety of techniques are established (e.g. Real-Time PCR, siRNA, proteome analyses, flow cytometry). The project is embedded in a national consortium with excellent partners. Your profile: Higher-than-average Master/Diploma in Biology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology or similar Strong interest in cell- and molecular biology and biomedical research Excellent command of English High motivation and time-flexibility, creativity, team spirit TUM is especially encouraging minorities and women to apply and will be preferred upon equal qualification.
