PhD Student Position Switzerland

A PhD student position is available immediately at the Institute of Physiology and Zurich Center for Integrative Human Physiology (ZIHP) of the University of Zurich. The successful candidate will be enrolled in the PhD program Integrative and Molecular Medicine of the Life Science Zurich Graduate School (http://www.lifescience-graduateschool.ch).
We explore the molecular mechanisms underlying adaptive responses to reduced oxygen supply in mammals. This includes regulation of cellular oxygen sensing mechanisms and processes, such as tumorigenesis, angiogenesis, wound healing and metabolism, influenced by differential oxygen concentrations.

Applicants should have an University Diploma/Master degree in molecular biology or biochemistry. We are seeking candidates who are highly self-motivated and committed. Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory and German would be an asset. The salary during the PhD study is according to the guidelines of the Swiss National Science Foundation.
Practical experience in biochemistry and molecular biology is absolutely required. Face to face interview required.
