Dear Josif,
Thanks for your message. Indeed your experience in molecular biology is exceptional. I have very strong feeling that you should be able to get a postdoctoral fellowship in UK or Germany, depending upon your choice. Microscopy is a very useful technique you have, which is required by many institutions. I’ll prefer UK because of English specking experience… and will get more experience in writing future grants, but Germany have more exposure to research as they have highly funded research institutions such as Max Plank. There are many big research institutions in UK as well, but research is more focused university related env. But in the end its all depend upon the lab you are applying for. lab publication matters… so chose a lab depending upon the funding, publication record and future prospect of the project.

Hello there.
I am a Medical Doctor, finished studies in Bulgaria, and now I’m near the end of my doctoral thesis work in Germany and will obtain Dr.med. degree in the next several months. Now I am looking for a post-doc position somewhere in Europe, preferably in Germany or UK. I have strong experience in microscopy (electron, fluorescence, light, live-cell imaging, some confocal), basic knowledge of molecular biology (DNA, RNA, PCR, RT-PCR), some protein biochemistry experience (but good theory), handling and surgery of small lab animals, excellent computer knowledge. Ready to learn even more new techniques.
I am looking for a position where I can fit well with my experience and knowledge.
