PhD Student Positions, University Hospital of RWTH Aachen, Germany

The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University Hospital of RWTH Aachen is seeking one PhD and two PhD student positions (TV-L E13 / TV-L E13/2) for a project on molecular mechanisms of VEGF in the Osteoarthrosis for two years with the possibility for prolongation.
Candidates should have a PhD respectively a Master (Diploma) in cell biology/biochemistry/molecular biology. A strong and documented background with practical experience in the analysis of cell biology and biochemistry is required and essential with publications preferably in peer reviewed journals.
Personal qualities preferably include an active, professional approach to the work with drive for independent work and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, able to work in a collaborative manner and committed to an academic career in a team-orientated environment with a perspective to establish her/his own research group/profile.
He/she will work in the new Life Sciences Building within the recently established Research Group on Molecular Orthopaedics funded by the German Research Foundation embedded in a well connected interdisciplinary faculty.
