The terms of the bursary are the full payment of Home/EU fees for three years (subject to annual review and satisfactory progress), and a bursary. The successful candidate may be required to teach for up to 150 hours per academic year as a condition of the bursary.

PhD studentship on novel topic:
Relations between neuropsychological functions and peripheral disease onset
This PhD studentship will be provided to a student interested in joining a new research team investigating whether the brain may “learn” about and modulate the onset or prognosis of peripheral illnesses. The research will involve 2 studies:
1. Testing prospectively whether neuropsychological tests and EEG measures (reflecting brain capacities) at baseline, predict illness onset (e.g., colds/flu, or insulin regulation in diabetes);
2. Testing whether brain training of the identified functions can reduce the risk of developing such an illness or affecting its prognosis.
The student will have to meet the following criteria:
1. Having a Masters in health psychology, neuropsychology or neuroscience, with high grades.
2. Excellent skills in statistics.
3. Excellent ability to learn to use computers to develop cognitive tests and to use an EEG.
4. Very high motivation.
5. Ability to integrate interdisciplinary topics.
6. Excellent writing skills.
