Cardiff University is inviting applications for a PhD studentship in Chemical and Catalysis Engineering within the School of Chemistry. This 3-year studentship consists of full UK/EU tuition fees as well as a Doctoral Stipend matching UK Research Council National Minimum. The project aims to develop nanoparticulate materials for applications in catalysis, biomedicine and environmental remediation. The project will thus provide opportunities for training in a wide range of advanced synthesis and characterization techniques, endowing the successful applicant with an excellent portfolio of laboratory skills. Eligibility:
-Residency: Full awards (fees plus maintenance stipend) are open to UK Nationals and EU students without further restrictions.
-Academic criteria: Applicants for a studentship must have obtained, or be about to obtain, a 2.1 degree or higher in a relevant subject, such as chemistry, chemical engineering, material science. Candidates without an MSc will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applications are particularly welcome from applicants with experience in aspects of nanoparticle synthesis, chemical engineering/reactor engineering, and spectroscopic methodologies.
