Student Technician/PhD Studentship in NMR Spectroscopy

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated PhD student technician to aid in the running of departmental NMR Spectroscopic work. This position is offered in conjunction with a four-year PhD place on a related research project.
Your role will include running samples, cryogen fills, clearing stacks on auto samplers, and routine maintenance. Hours of work will start at 6 hours per week in Year 1, increasing to 10 hours per week in Year 2 onwards.
You should have a minimum of an upper second-class (2i) honours degree in Chemistry.
You will receive a studentship stipend in addition to your salary, and the total will amount to ?12,600 for 2007/08. The amount will be adjusted on a yearly basis to provide a salary/stipend combination each year in line with a standard stipend. The salary element will be in the range of ?21,050 – ?25,889 per annum, reduced pro rata. This is a fixed-term contract for 4 years.
