Eligibility:-You hold a MSc degree in Informatics, Physics or Electrical Engineering, and have affinity with the application and utilization of (bio)medical, technological research, and, more in particular, with medical image processing and visualization. -
-You are able to solve problems at an abstract level, and to apply solutions in (clinical) practice. -In addition, you like to work in a team with enthusiastic colleagues.
-You are a creative and committed researcher, with an eye for detail, but also with a pragmatic attitude. – You have knowledge of Linux, Windows and Matlab, and preferably of Knowledge of C++.
Scholarship Open for International Students: No
Scholarship Description: As a PhD student, your main task is to develop novel image processing techniques for automated plaque assessment from MR imaging studies of the carotid vessel wall. You will work in a multi-disciplinary research team with colleagues at LKEB and collaborate closely with researchers from two other participating academic medical centers in the Netherlands. You will present your results in scientific papers and at international conferences. In addition, you are expected to follow selected courses on image analysis, visualization and pattern recognition topics.
