Applications are invited for PhD studentship in nonlinear photonics at University of Sussex. Applicants must hold or expect to hold, a UK Bachelor degree in a relevant subject with first class Honours, (or an EU equivalent degree). Alternatively, an UK second-class Bachelor degree plus an UK Masters degree at Merit classification (or an EU equivalent). The studentship will provide £13863 per annum tax-free bursary and waiver of UK/EU fees each year for 3.5 years. The application deadline is 31st August 2014.

Study Subject (s): Studentship can be undertaken on one of two alternative topics currently available: Complexity in Photonics for Energy Harvesting and Route to On Chip Optical Frequency Combs.

Scholarship Description: This PhD studentship can be undertaken on one of two alternative topics currently available. When applying, please indicate your preferred topic. Only one studentship is available.

Duration of award(s): Studentship is offered for 3.5 years. The intended start date is 18 September 2014. First payment of the maintenance bursary will be made 01 October 2014.
