Job description: Supported by Cranfield IVHM centre, a studentship up to £17,000 p.a. for 3 years plus fees* is available. Cranfield University’s Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM) Centre, a pioneering centre of excellence with core partners Boeing, BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, Meggitt and Thales, is seeking a motivated graduate to undertake an exciting research opportunity. The project aims to develop real-time prognostic health management for aircraft power systems.

IVHM technology informs existing concepts of vehicle maintenance, repair and overhaul by offering a total health check for high-tech, high-value vehicles such as aircraft, ships, high-speed trains and high-performance cars. This research is one of the pioneering projects within Cranfield IVHM Centre, in which electronic prognostics capability will be built into aircraft power systems such that health of the power systems can be efficiently monitored and the reliability of the power systems and avionics system can be extended to long service life. The research will involve significant collaboration with industry and the opportunity to work with Thales in France.
Technical Schools Research Students Training Programme
