Job Description : Applications are invited for the above studentship which represents an exciting research programme within Aston University which forms part of a FP 7 Framework programme and will offer the opportunity to collaborate within a strong European consortium. The work will focus on developing nanotechnology based systems to improve the delivery of vaccines.

The formulation team within Aston have a strong background in developing delivery systems for a range of drugs, vaccines and bioassays. Our labs are equipped with a wide range of facilities to pursue cutting-edge research in nanotechnology, particulate systems and liposomes. In the 2008 RAE, the Drug Delivery group formed part of the Aston University Allied Healthcare and Professions submission which was ranked 3rd in the UK, based on volume of research given a 3* or 4* rating (internationally excellent and world-leading).
The projects, are anticipated to commence either in July or October 2010, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and committed applicant who is excited about research and keen to develop their research skills and scientific career. The funding is only available for UK/EU students.

Application Requirement :

Applicants should have, or be expecting, a good honours degree (either first class or upper second class) or hold an MSc in a relevant discipline which includes the Pharmaceutical sciences, Chemistry related disciplines, Life Sciences and other related areas

If you are an EU Applicant, the English Language requirements are a minimum score of 620 (260 minimum in computer test) in TOEFL OR IELTS with minimum marks of 6.5 in each section and an overall band of 7.0.
