Job Description: Department of Media and Communications at Goldsmiths, University of London, is pleased to announce two 3-year PhD studentships in Media and Communications, available from October 2010.The studentships will be awarded to exceptional candidates whose profiles have the potential to enhance the department’s overall research and/or make a significant contribution to the work of a research group within the department.

The department has particular strengths in media and cultural studies and is one of the UK’s leaders in the field of media theory and media practice. It is also home to Centre for the Study of Global Media & Democracy, Goldsmiths Leverhulme Media Research Centre and Screen School.

Applicants should hold, or expect to have attained, a masters degree (distinction or merit) by the time the studentship commences. As part of the studentship, the successful candidate will be expected to carry out light teaching and/or administrative duties, normally in years 2 and 3.
