Teaching & Research Assistant Position in Marketing (PhD-track)
for the Louvain-la-Neuve Campus of the Louvain School of Management
The Louvain School of Management
The Louvain School of Management (LSM) is the joint management school of four Belgian Universities (UCL, Louvain-la-Neuve, FUNDP, Namur, FUCaM, Mons and FUSL, Brussels). It is located at the centre of Europe, close to the EU institutions and to the headquarters of major international companies. With more
than 200 full-time professors and researchers, the school defines itself as a top internationally-oriented university-based school of management. It attracts, in its Master programs taught in French and in English and its doctoral school, about 1000 regular and 200 exchange students yearly. Its research, mainly organized within centers of excellence, produces about 100 papers published in international journals and delivers about 15 PhD’s, yearly. Its portfolio of executive education programs including a well-known international EMBA and a large set of research contracts and chairs connect the school faculties with the business community on an every-day basis.
Location
The position is associated with the department of marketing of the LSM. The main duties will take place on
the Louvain-la-Neuve campus (University of Louvain, UCL). Some activities might take place on other campuses of the LSM.
Job description
The position involves about equal shares of research and teaching. Teaching (exercises, cases, coaching,…) will be carried out within the graduate programs (English and/or French) of the LSM as well as within the bachelor programs (French) of the University of Louvain (UCL). The candidate will carry his/her research activities within the Excellence Center for Research (Centre in Consumer, Market and Society) http://www.uclouvain.be/en-iag.html), of the LSM. S/he will undertake his/her doctoral program in the Doctoral School of Management of the LSM.
Requirements
Applicants hold a Master’s degree (possibly to be obtained by September 30, 2008) and are expected to have excelled in their curriculum. They have a good command of spoken and written English and French.
Contract
The appointment starts in September 2008 and ends in July 2009 (15/07/2009).
