These high-throughput techniques generate large amounts of data, whose analysis is a major challenge to modern bioinformatics and statistical genomics. *Job description* You will work on development of methods and software for high-throughput analysis of genomic and phenomic data, including genome-wide association analysis. In collaboration with other group members, you will work on the application of already existing and newly developed methods to analysis of multiple health-related complex human traits. *Requirements* A candidate should have strong interest in genetics and biology of complex traits and quantitative data analysis, a natural sciences or mathematical background, and possess good command of English. A candidate should be enthusiastic, accurate, flexible and able to work in a team. Expertise in programming and statistical analysis is strongly recommended. Experience of work with large data sets, and familiarity with Linux environment is strongly recommended for a Post-Doc and would be considered as an advantage for a PhD candidate. Any of the following skills will be considered as an advantage: knowledge of C/C++, Perl, Python, SQL, R and/or S, Web technologies, and high-performance parallel computing technologies. Experience in analysis of biological data is welcome. *Conditions of employment* We offer you an appointment at Erasmus MC as a PhD student for a period of 4 years. The gross monthly salary amounts € 2.007,- in the first year and increases to € 2.572,- in the fourth year with a full-time appointment, according to the PhD salary scales of the CAO UMC.
