Presently a remarkable number of International and Filipino scholarships are available for the citizens of Philippines. The Government of Philippines and other educational organizations are making continuous efforts to increase the literacy rate and improve the education system for the students. In order to encourage the development in the education sector, institutions seek to provide number of incentives in the form of scholarships, grants and subsidies to students for their higher education. Many international universities and organizations like University of Strathclyde, the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Asian Peacebuilders, etc are also offering grants and bursaries for Filipinos to avail the benefits of their educational facilities in their countries. Below you can find the list of various Filipino scholarships available to study in Philippines and abroad.

SEARCA Graduate Scholarship for Southeast Asians
Scholarship Provider:
 The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA)
Eligible Students: The SEARCA Graduate Scholarship is open to nationals who are regular employees of academic, research or government institutions and not more than 35 years old at the time of application.
Courses: Scholarship is available for pursuing master’s and PhD degrees level
Award Details: Scholarship covers stipend, tuition, international and domestic travel allowances, thesis/dissertation support, book allowance, and health insurance.

CGI-AF Joint Postgraduate Scholarship Program for ASEAN Citizens

: The Chulabhorn Graduate Institute (CGI) and the ASEAN Foundation (AF)
Eligible Students: Applicants must have demonstrated English proficiency, preferably on one of two recognized test of language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS)
Courses: The CGI is presently offering programs leading to a Postgraduate diploma and a Master’s degree.
Award Details: The scholarship will cover tuition and other academic fees, round trip airfare, accommodation allowance, monthly stipend, book allowance, health insurance and others.

Hitachi Scholarship Research Support Program in Japan, 2017

NEF Research Grant Programme for Asia-Pacific Region

 Nagao Natural Environment Foundation
Eligible Students:  An applicant must be a national of developing country in the Asia-Pacific region.
Courses: The NEF Research Grant Programme supports academic and scientific research.
Award Details: The maximum grant size in this programme is 500,000 Japanese yen per project for a maximum duration of two year.

Czech Republic Government Scholarships for Developing Countries

Eligible Students: The scholarships are intended solely to promote the studies of adults who are foreign nationals from developing third countries in need.

ANU International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship in Australia

Louis Dreyfus-Weidenfeld Scholarship and Leadership Programme

Eligible Students: Successful applicants must demonstrate that, following their academic studies at Oxford, they are committed to serving the global community through their chosen field of work, including but not limited to: the agricultural industry, development areas, politics and/or law related to food security and/or sustainable agriculture, health care, environmental and water management, economic, public and foreign policy.
Courses: Scholarships are available for pursuing full time graduate degree at University of Oxford.
Award Details: The scholarship will cover 100% of University and college fees and a grant for living costs (of at least £14,057).

ACFJ MA Journalism Fellowships at Ateneo de Manila University

Eligible Students: An applicant must have at least two (2) years experience as a fulltime photojournalist/multimedia journalist, photographer or journalist.

Award Details: Full grants cover tuition fees, books, travel (international and domestic) and living expenses for the on-campus sessions.

VLIR-UOS Scholarships for International Master Programmes (ICP)

Eligible Students: The maximum age for a ICP candidate is 35 years for an initial masters and 40 years for an advanced masters. The candidate cannot succeed this age on January 1 of the intake year.

AUN/SEED-Net Scholarship for Graduate Degree Program

Eligible Students: Applicants must be young faculty staff of Sending Institutions, or graduating students/graduates who are strongly motivated to pursue a professional career as faculty staff at Sending Institutions.
Courses: Scholarships are available to pursue graduate studies (Master Degree; Doctoral Degree Sandwich Program (PhD SW); Integrated Graduate Program) at Host Institutions.
Award Details: The scholarships cover tuition fees, living allowance, health insurance, relocation allowance, and a round-trip air ticket (Health insurance, relocation allowance, and a round-trip air ticket will be provided only for international student.), in accordance with AUN/SEED-Net regulations.

MJIIT ASEAN Student Incentive Awards for Masters and PhD Programme

Dean’s Asia Scholarships at University of Auckland

Eligible Students: The Scholarships will be awarded to international undergraduate students from any country on the Asian continent.
Courses: Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate degree at University of Auckland.
Award Details: The Scholarships will be paid as a tuition/compulsory fees credit over three years in two instalments per year, one in the first semester and one in the second semester.

AFoCo Landmark Graduate Scholarship Program

Eligible Students: Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or a degree that is equivalent to or higher than a bachelor’s degree as of 1 July
Courses: Scholarships are available for pursuing M.Sc. and PhD program.
Award Details: The annual amount provided to a scholarship grantee shall be up to US$22,500.

Asian Women in Business Scholarship (AWIB) Fund

Eligible Students: Enrolled full-time in an accredited four-year undergraduate institution in the U.S. at the time of application and award.
Courses: Scholarship is available for pursuing undergraduate degree (this scholarship is for currently enrolled undergraduates who have completed at least one semester).
Award Details: Each scholarship will be $2,500. An additional $2,500 may be given to scholarship recipients who demonstrate financial need, if we have available funds.

U.P. Circle Brunei Scholarship in Science and Technology

Eligible Students: Applicant must be a bona fide student of the University of the Philippines who is enrolled in the field of Science and Technology.
Courses: Scholarship is available for pursuing master degree at University of the Philippines.
Award Details: The actual interest earnings of the fund but not to exceed P37,000 per year.

TWAS-CNPq Postgraduate Fellowship Programme

: National Council for Scientific and Technological Development and TWAS
Eligible Students: Hold a university degree in the Natural Sciences (minimum Master’s degree).
Courses: This fellowship is available for pursuing postgraduate degree level.
Award Details: CNPq will provide a standard monthly allowance which should be used to cover living costs, such as accommodation, food and health insurance.

Guy S. Goodwin-Gill Scholarship for Filipino Students

Eligible Students: Applicants for the Guy S. Goodwin-Gill Scholarship must have the offer of a place on the MA in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies by distance learning.
Courses: Scholarships are available for pursuing MA programme by distance learning at the University of London.
Award Details: The Guy S. Goodwin-Gill scholarship covers the ‘whole fee’ for the two-year part-time distance learning MA programme, comprising two Core Module fees, four Elective Module fees, and the two Dissertation modules fees. This is equivalent to fees of £7,350 over the lifetime of the award.

DOST-Newton PhD Scholarships for Filipino Students

 The programme is jointly funded by the Newton Fund and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)
Eligible Students: For an applicant to be considered for the DOST-Newton PhD Scholarship, the applicant must be a Filipino Citizen not over 45 years of age at the time of admission to the Graduate Program;
Courses: Scholarships are available for full-time PhD progarmme at a UK higher education institution.
Award Details: The Department of Science and Technology will cover Filipino scholars’ travel, visa, and insurance fees.

 TWAS-DBT Postgraduate Fellowship Programme
Scholarship Provider
: The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, India and TWAS.
Eligible Students: Applicants for these fellowships must be a maximum age of 35 years on 31 December of the application year.
Courses: Fellowships are available to pursue research towards a PhD.
Award Details: DBT will provide a monthly stipend to cover for living costs, food and health insurance. The monthly stipend will not be convertible into foreign currency. In addition, the fellowship holder will receive a house rent allowance.

ITS Scholarships for Filipino Students at University of Leeds

 University of Leeds, UK
Eligible Students: Applicants must first hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) of an academic place on an ITS Masters programme.
Courses: Scholarships are available for pursuing masters study (MA and MSc programmes) at ITS.
Award Details: The scholarship provides a 50% tuition fee waiver (£7875 for international and Southeast Asia scholarships and £3000 UK/EU scholarship) for the 2015-16 academic year.
Application Deadline: 15th June and 7th July (for UK/EU scholarship)

Korean Government Scholarship Program for International Graduate Students

Eligible Students: The applicant and his/her parents must have foreign citizenship. Applicants who hold Korean citizenship are not permitted to apply for this program.
Courses: Scholarships are available for pursuing master, PhD and research programs at Participating Universities in Korea.
Award Details: Scholarship includes monthly allowance: 900,000 won (KRW) per month.
