Posse Scholarship for High School Juniors/Senior Students in USA, 2015

Applications are invited for Posse scholarships available for high school juniors/senior students to attend one of Posse’s partner colleges or universities. Nationwide, thousands of students are nominated annually for the Posse Scholarship. Each Posse Scholar wins a four-year, full-tuition scholarship to attend one of Posse’s partner colleges or universities. The Posse Scholarship is neither a minority nor a need-based scholarship and is open to students of all backgrounds. To be eligible, students must be nominated by their high school or a community-based organization and demonstrated leadership within their high school, community or family. Depending on the Posse city, nominations are often taken between the spring and early August before the new school year begins.

-Be nominated by their high school or a community-based organization.
-Be in the first term of their senior year in high school. Depending on the Posse city, nominations are often taken between the spring and early August before the new school year begins.
-Demonstrate leadership within their high school, community or family.
-Demonstrate academic potential.
-The Posse Scholarship is neither a minority nor a need-based scholarship and is open to students of all backgrounds.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Students of USA are eligible for these Posse scholarships.

Scholarship Description: Posse FoundationPosse is committed to developing the next generation of leaders, offering the best and brightest urban high school students the opportunity to excel at top-tier colleges and universities. Through Posse’s distinctive program, partner institutions meet their diversity goals, experience a changed campus and broaden their selection scope, while sacrificing nothing in the way of student quality. With support from the Posse program, Scholars are excelling academically, founding and leading campus organizations, taking on competitive internships and earning prestigious awards.

What does it cover? Each Posse Scholar wins a four-year, full-tuition scholarship to attend one of Posse’s partner colleges or universities.

Selection Criteria: From September through December each year, Posse conducts the Dynamic Assessment Process (DAP), a unique evaluation method designed to identify young leaders who might be missed by traditional admissions criteria, but who can excel at selective colleges and universities. Using non-traditional forums to evaluate potential, DAP offers students an opportunity to demonstrate their intrinsic leadership abilities, their skill at working in a team setting, and their motivation and desire to succeed. Posse seeks students who are:
-Leaders in their high schools and communities
-Committed to their education and demonstrate academic potential
-Interested in teamwork and diversity
-Positive, motivated, talented, ambitious young people

How to Apply: If you are a high school or community-based organization located in any of Posse’s nine cities, you are eligible to nominate students for the Posse Scholarship. If you are not a part of our nominating network, it’s easy to contact your Posse city to register to become one. Some restrictions apply.
