Post doc in Animal Conservation Genetics
Description : Activity: Molecular and data analyses on neutral and adaptive markers in the ‘carpione del Garda’ (Salmo carpio) and related congeneric species (S. trutta species complex). Tasks: Participation in sampling activities; adequate storing of tissue samples collected; genetic data mining; DNA extraction and amplification via PCR; optimisation of PCR reactions for amplifying both neutral markers (mainly mtDNA and nuclear microsatellites and SNPs) and adaptive markers (e.g. orthologous loci involved in potential adaptive response); preparation of cycle sequencing and minisequencing DNA reaction; cloning of PCR products; editing of DNA sequences; RNA isolation and real time PCR amplification; maintainance of database; data analyses with population genetics/evolutionary specific software; drafting scientific papers and reports; attending national and international conferences, workshops.
