Job description:
We are looking for a motivated post doctoral researcher to join our dynamic reserch team in experimental low temperature physics at Low Temperature Laboratory of Helsinki University of Technology. The group is located on the university campus in Micronova, the reserch center for micro and nanotechnology with state-of-the-art fabrication and measurement facilities.
Your work will be focused in the field of single charge pumping with the ultimate goal of realizing a high-yield current source reaching metrological accuracies. This device is the missing link in the quantum metrological triangle experiment, in which the electric current is compared with the voltage from the Josephson effect and the resistance from the quantum Hall effect using the Ohm’s law for a consistency check of the fundamental constants of nature. The triangle experiments are under way in various metrological institutes including Finland, and hence your work will be highly topical and may have a great impact on physics and future technologies.
If required, you will be provided with the proper guidance in all aspects of you work including the fabrication of nanocircuits, cryogenics, and measurement techniques. Thus background in this field is an advantage but not a strict requirement.
