Research at the FVM is closely associated with research in human medicine and in biomedical and life sciences in the Academic Biomedical Centre (ABC; www.abc.uu.nl). The research programmes of the FVM, which are coordinated by the Institute of Veterinary Research (IVR), are embedded in the main research focus areas of Utrecht University (www.uu.nl/research). The ABC plays an important role in establishing and maintaining interfacultary research facilities. For conceptual and technical proteomics support for the research programmes of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the IVR is in search of a
POST-DOC PROTEOMICS
A motivated scientist, who will operate from within the Netherlands Proteomics Centre, for applying cutting-edge proteomics methods to solve research questions arising from innovative research within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. He or she will conduct scientific experiments as a participant in various research projects and will give technical advice to research groups of the FVM. In addition, he or she will play a proactive role in advising and supervising scientists of our faculty in all possible, theoretical and applied, aspects of proteomics research.
We are searching for a motivated post-doctoral scientist:
· with a PhD degree and excellent research abilities;
· with hands-on experience in relevant proteomics techniques (biochemical sample preparation, protein mass spectroscopy, separation techniques, and bioinformatics);
· with excellent communicative skills;
· who is able to operate in an independent and structured way.
We offer a research position for an initial period of 2 years (full-time) or up to 3 years (part-time 0.6 fte).
Your gross salary will amount between € 2,976 and € 4,075 per month (full-time appointment in scale 11, of the Collective Labor Agreement of the Dutch Universities), depending on previous qualifications and experience. In addition, there are outstanding secondary benefits such as a minimum of 31 days holiday per year (for a full-time appointment of 38 hr/week), an arrangement for study facilities, and generous contributions to healthcare, childcare etc.
